Compress Image to 100 KB (or Any Size)

Many forms and websites limit file size. Set a target, such as 100 KB, and the tool finds the best quality that fits. Photos stay on your device.

Choose settings before adding photos. Changes apply only to photos added next.

Options

How it works

  1. Set the target size in KB. 100 KB is already filled in.
  2. Pick JPEG or WebP. JPEG is accepted almost everywhere.
  3. Choose your photos, up to 20 at a time. Processing starts with the settings you selected.
  4. Download the compressed photo. The result shows the final size.

More free tools are on the image tools page. After resizing, check your alt text with the alt text checker.

Frequently asked questions

How do I compress an image to under 100 KB?

Choose your photo and keep the target at 100 KB. The tool tries different quality levels and picks the highest one that fits. If the photo is still too large at the lowest quality, it also makes the picture smaller.

Will the photo look worse?

A little, since the tool trades quality for size. It uses the highest quality that fits your limit, so a photo that is already small loses little. The result shows the final size and dimensions so you can judge it.

Can it reach any size?

Almost. A very large photo with a very small target may not reach the limit even after shrinking. The tool then shows the closest result it found instead of failing silently.

Why only JPEG and WebP?

PNG is lossless, so there is no quality setting to lower. For a smaller file from a PNG, choose JPEG or WebP. WebP is often smaller, but a few older forms do not accept it.

Are my photos uploaded?

No. Compression happens in your browser. Nothing you choose is sent to Neartool. You can check this in your browser's network tab.
