Write Etsy and Amazon Listings From Product Photos in Bulk

If you have a folder of product photos and a blank listing sheet, you can generate draft titles, descriptions and keywords from the images, then export them as a CSV. This guide shows the workflow and the limits to respect.

The Workflow

  1. Open the product description from image tool in desktop Chrome.
  2. Drop in your photos. Add a note about brand voice or product type in the page context field.
  3. Wait for the batch to finish, then read and edit every draft.
  4. Choose Etsy listings CSV or Amazon listings CSV from the export menu.
  5. Copy the columns into your shop uploader or listing template.

Everything runs on your device. Product photos are not uploaded to Neartool.

What the Etsy CSV Contains

  • TITLE: up to 140 characters, taken from the generated alt text.
  • DESCRIPTION: the generated draft.
  • TAGS: from hashtags, deduplicated, at most 13 tags of 20 characters or fewer.
  • PRICE, QUANTITY, IMAGE1: price is blank for you to fill; quantity defaults to 1; the file name is included.

What the Amazon CSV Contains

  • item_name: up to 200 characters. Category rules differ, so check yours.
  • product_description: the generated draft.
  • generic_keywords: the tags as space-separated keywords, capped at 250 bytes.
  • item_sku and main_image_file: SKU is blank for you; the file name is included.
These files are starting points, not ready-to-upload templates. Etsy and Amazon change their formats and category requirements, so map the columns to the current template. Only claim what is true about your product: the model sees the image, not your materials, sizes or certifications. Edit before you publish.

Tips for Better Drafts

  • Use clean photos on plain backgrounds; the model describes what it can see.
  • Put materials, sizes, and care instructions in the page context field or add them by hand afterwards.
  • Don't repeat the same keywords across every listing.
  • Check image alt text with the alt text checker, and see the Shopify guide if you also sell on your own store.
